Randall P. Coombs, 76 of Devils Lake, ND formerly of Waterbury, Connecticut passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Randall P. Coombs was born on November 26, 1939 at Auburn, Maine, the son of Randall and Marjorie (Rogers) Coombs. Randall graduated from High School and worked for a few years in the Waterbury, CT area. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 14, 1959 at New Haven, Connecticut. He served stateside at Kelly Air Force Base in Texas. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman 2nd Class on October 11, 1963 and then served with the Air Force Reserves until October 13, 1965. After his honorable discharge, he returned to work at the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (Later known as the A&P) in Waterbury, Connecticut as a Grocery Clerk and later Produce Manager. He retired in 1996 after 44 years as a dedicated employee of A&P. Randall continued to make Connecticut his home until 2011 when he moved to Devils Lake, ND where he was living at the time of his death. Randall was a quiet, kind hearted man who proudly served his country and was a faithful employee. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He is survived by his daughters Dawn and her husband Kevin Becker of Mount Joy, PA and Darlene and her husband Shawn Carter from Bainbridge, PA; grandchildren Christopher and Lauren Becker, Briana, Neil and Brooke Dohner; sisters Lynda (Richard) Robinson, Goshen, CT, donna Cappellina, Torrington, CT and Brenda (Thomas) Casey, Winsted, CT and brother Erland (Lynn) Coombs of New Hartford, CT; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents;
