Kenneth Robert Sainsbury Kenneth Robert Sainsbury, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep, September 6, 2016, in Devils Lake, ND. He was a longtime resident of Moxee, WA. Graveside services were held in Zillah, Washington on September 12th 2016. Followed by a celebration of his life at the Zillah Church of Jesus Christ LDS. He was born on October 14, 1933 in Rexburg, Idaho to Kenneth Verl & Alva Irene (Gilbertson) Sainsbury. Kenneth (Bob) was raised with an older sister and 5 younger brothers, he graduated from Toppenish in 1951. He served two years active duty in the Army during the Korean War. Shortly upon returning from the service he met Glenna Chloe Griffith, it was love at first sight. They were wed a few months later on August 7th 1953. They made their home in the Yakima Valley, ran their own farm and raised five amazing boys, as well as many foster kids. Ken was a skilled mechanic (he ran pit crew for his two youngest when they raced street stock) and also worked in the field of electronics until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, camping, a good football game, and was a huge NASCAR fan. His grandchildren and family were his pride and joy. Ken and Glenna moved to Devils Lake, ND in 1993. He lost his beloved wife Sept. 23rd, 2007. The last year of his life he faced many health challenges with grace and humor. Surrounded by the love and support of family, his zest for living never dimmed. Always ready with a joke, a twinkle in his blue eyes, a warm smile and cuddle for his great-grand babies. An inspiration to all that he touched, “Dad, Papa, Great Papa” his influence will be felt for generations. Survived by his sons: John(Dorothy) Sainsbury, Naches, WA, Kenny(Shelley) Sainsbury, Yakima, WA, Donald(Jean) Sainsbury, Devils Lake, Raymond(Tina) Sainsbury also Devils Lake, Patrick(Trish) Sainsbury, Naches, WA; Foster sons: Mike Weiler, Doug Boyle and Quentin Wallace; Grandchildren: Jerry(Jody), Stacy(Donnie), Travis(Angie), Kris(Ashley), Casey(Alicia), Angela(Nic), Jason, Tara, Jolene(Chris), Amanda, Darrel; Great Grandchildren: Shay, Tyler(Natasha), Taylor, Destinee, Madison, Jenna, Levi, Kendal, Payten, Elliot, Paisley, Wesley; Great Great Grandchild Natalie; Brothers: Richard(Vicki), Thomas(Mary Ann), Jack, William, James(Pauline) Preceded in death by his: Wife Glenna; Parents Ken and Alva, Sister Verlene Henle, Sister-in-law Cheryl, Great Grandson Zanon Scott Sainsbury.
