BEVERLY A. LEE

Beverly Ann Lee, 85 of Devils Lake formerly of Garske, ND passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Beverly Ann Hall was delivered at the family home in Bottineau, ND on August 19, 1931 to Norman and Gladys (Larson) Hall. After completing the 5th grade, the family moved to Devils Lake and Beverly graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1949. Beverly was united in marriage to Donald W. Lee on July 4, 1950 at the Frith farm, rural Devils Lake. They established their home at rural Garske until moving to Devils Lake in 1984. Don and Bev were married for 58 years at the time of Donald’s passing in March of 2007. Bev and Don dedicated their lives to farming, family and community. Bev was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and was very active in her church and various community organizations in the Devils Lake community, dedicating much of her time and talents to the Senior Center of Devils Lake. Bev could always be counted on for a quick check to confirm age and birthdate of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren thanks to her dedication to the meticulous upkeep of the cherished Grandma calendar. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many of her children’s clothes, uniforms for cheerleaders and costumes for plays. Bev was never idle and her creative work and beautiful projects have been and will continue to be enjoyed by her family and friends. Bev’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest legacy is her loving spirit and many delicious recipes that will carry on in the family. Bev is survived by her eight children and twenty-two grandchildren Sharlo Myklebust, (John) Devils Lake, ND and children Michelle, Cheri, Jonna (Pat Hall) and Lee (Nancy), Doug Lee (Susan) Grand Forks, ND and children Darin (Erica) and Melissa (John), Vickie Erickstad (Dan) Garske, ND and children Jonathan (Jodi) and Danielle (Jason), Sonia Lee, Arizona and children Ryan (Angie), Kyle and JamieLee (DJ), Robin Hariper (Jim), Bismarck, ND and children Brad and Rachel, Lori Knutson (Dean), Maddock, ND and children Josh (Tiffany), Alisha (Justin) and Trevor, David Lee (Tammy), Devils Lake and children Ashley (Brian) and Katie (Matt), Diane Schuler (Mike), Grand Forks and children Larissa (Nick), Jason (Lacey), Brandi and Cody; 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sister Arlouise Nyland, Devils Lake; brother Keith Hall, Florida; Don’s brother Jim Lee, Brookings, SD; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Bev were her beloved husband, Don, parents, and grandson Kyle Lee Thomas. Funeral services for Bev will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday (today) at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
