Robert Q. Stotts, 94 of Fargo formerly of Starkweather and Devils Lake, ND passed away on Sunday evening, October 2, 2016 at Villa Maria Care Center in Fargo. Burial will be at the Methodist Cemetery, rural Starkweather. Robert Quentin, son of Claud and Elizabeth (Goodwill) Stotts was born on August 15, 1922 at Lakota, ND. Robert grew up on the family farm, north of Edmore, attended the Prospect Township School and also the Edmore Public School. Robert was united in marriage to Doris M. Lindenberg Stinkeoway on August 5, 1957 at Grand Forks, ND. They established their home on the family farm and would live, work and raise a family there through the years. They later moved into Starkweather, but continued farming. Even after retiring, Robert continued to be active in the community and the Methodist Church. Doris died on December 13, 2000. Robert moved to Devils Lake in 2003 and enjoyed several years in the community reuniting with old friends and making new ones. He also enjoyed membership in the Elks and Eagles Lodges for many years. For the past 2 years, Robert has lived at Villa Maria in Fargo to be closer to family. Farming was Robert’s life. He loved to drive around the countryside, checking crops and never missing an opportunity to stop in and visit with friends and neighbors along the way. He loved to tell stories of life in the “good old days”. When he married Doris, who was a widow with 4 children, he made a true commitment to provide for his family and to love and care for them all and to add one more beautiful child to their life. We will carry memories of our dear dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend forever in our hearts. Robert’s loving family include his children Marilyn (John) Warinsky, Woodbury, MN, Debby Johnson, Fargo, ND, Lois (Frank) Zacher, Wilton, ND and John “Jerry” (Sonia) Stinkeoway, Rochester, WA; grandchildren Brice (Ashley) Weed, Kaylee (Juston) Hilton, Doug (Rachel) Stinkeoway, Lisa (Pete) Bjornstad, John (Kendra) Stinkeoway, Jill (Brady) Carlsrud, Adam Pulst, Falan Johnson,Ty (Gina) Zacher, Tavi Zacher, Matthew (Shasta) Stinkeoway, Michael (Jenika) Stinkeoway, Liz (Eric) Stinkeoway and David Stinkeoway; twenty great grandchildren; sisters Mary Jane Eidsness, Devils Lake and Dorothy Moore, Mesa, AZ; several nieces, nephews and treasured in-laws also survive.
