Mary E. Robertson, 67 of Devils Lake formerly of Fort Totten and Minnewaukan, ND died early Saturday morning, October 1, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Charles Leute OP celebrating the Mass. Visitation for Mary will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will continue at Seven Dolors Church on Thursday, October 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service and time of sharing at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from City Plaza. Mary Evelyn, daughter of Edwin and Violet (Herman) DuBois was born on January 15, 1949 at Fort Totten, ND. The family lived in Fargo, Montana and Minneapolis before returning to the Fort Totten area in 1958. She attended Little Flower School at St. Michael and Maddock High School. She worked at the Day Care and Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten. Mary also worked in the Dietary Department at Heartland Care Center and later the Memorial Eventide Day Care, retiring in December of 2014. She loved her days caring for the many children at the Day Care. Mary was united in marriage to Jeremiah “Jay” Robertson on September 9, 2000. They were together for over 30 years, sharing a beautiful life together. They lived in Fort Totten, Minnewaukan and Devils Lake. Mary loved spending time with her family and many dear friends. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Mary is survived by her loving family. Her husband Jay; children Gary (Colleen) Thumb Jr., twins Stacy (Jacky) Thumb, Tracy Thumb and Marty (Neva) Thumb; step children Jeremiah Crow, Tisha Crowe, Gerilyn Crow and Darrel Crowe; grandchildren Troyal, Tanisha, Tiana, Taylah, Rancee, Rodney, Christopher, Vance, Christianna, Chelsea, Josh, Alicia, Trevor, Janessa, Sage, Little Marty, Maria, Liz; several step grandchildren and many great grandchildren; brothers Clayton (Myra) DuBois and Louie (Yvonne “Hopsty”) DuBois; sisters Violet “Pinky” (Burt) Robertson, Grace (Duke) Thumb and Audrey Greywater; aunts Evelyn Marcell and Bernadine Hager; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Matt (Emerald) Robertson, Roberta (Gary) Smith, Laura Robertson, Jean Robertson, John Robertson and Marty Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Violet; brothers Edwin DuBois Jr., Dale DuBois and John DuBois; grandparents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Emerson and Lorraine Robertson. Active Pallbearers will be Troyal, Marty and Stacy Thumb, Louie and Clayton DuBois and BJ Robertson. Honorary Bearers will be Ernestine Dauphinais, Colleen Chaske, Myra Pearson, Leona Schuster, Edith Steinhaus, Juanita, Vern and Velma Lambert, Dean and Sonta Dauphinais, Bimbo and Renae LeNoir and the Co-Workers of Memorial Eventide Day Care.
