Susan M. Bingham

Susan M. Bingham, 72 of Devils Lake formerly of Brinsmade, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home. Susan Myrtle Bingham was born on April 15, 1944 at Devils Lake, ND, the youngest of ten children born to Fred and Josephine (Muri) Bingham. Susan grew up on the family farm in Brinsmade, cared for by her mother. In the mid 1980’s she came to Devils Lake. In later years she was cared for by REM and Community Options until her death. Susan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was also very community minded and collected pop tops in support of the Ronald McDonald Houses. She loved the color red, and that color was well represented in any of her purchases from clothing to furniture. Susan is survived by her siblings and their spouses Marie Eback, Warroad, MN, Delbert and Anna Bingham, Brinsmade, ND and Fred and Ann Bingham Devils Lake; several nieces and nephews and much loved caretakers at REM and Community Options. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law Eustean and Rudolph Tollefson, Rosemary and Phillip Leppard, Catherine and Emil Kraft and Pat Ripplinger; brothers and sisters-in-law George and Deloras Bingham, Frances and Helen Bingham. Visitation for Susan will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Father Alex King celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, rural Minnewaukan. Casket Bearers for Susan will be her nephews Lawrence Tollefson, Edward Bingham, Richard Leppard, Fred Eback,Paul Bingham, Mark Bingham, Richard Kraft and Ray Ripplinger.
