Gail R. Miller, 74 owner of Pop’s Bar passed away in her home on Saturday morning, October 15, 2016.
Gail Rosalind Lee was born on August 14, 1942 at McVille, ND, the daughter of Robert and Gloris (Pearson) Lee. She was reared and educated in McVille, graduating from McVille High School with the class of 1960. She continued her education at the Interstate Business College in Bismarck, ND.
Gail married Jim Miller in 1961 and they made their home in Bismarck and started their family. In 1966, they made the move to Devils Lake and Gail called Devils Lake home until her death.
For over 45 years, Gail was the Office Manager at I.F. LaFleur and Sons where she also managed the company’s apartment rentals. That was Gail’s day job and for the past 36 plus years, she has been the owner and operator of Pop’s Bar. Gail was always the friendly, smiling face, the listening ear that was Pop’s Bar. She will be so greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In Gail’s younger years, she was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and Sunday School teacher and enjoyed membership in the Card Club and local Homemaker’s Club.
Gail loved the outdoors and tending her flower gardens and when indoors her numerous house plants. Spending time with her children and grandchildren and many dear friends was very precious to Gail.
Gail’s is survived by her loving children Robert Miller and his wife Darla of Bismarck, ND and Brenda and her husband Gary Bergsrud of Rolla, ND; her precious grandchildren Bobbie Jo and Billie Jo Miller and Tyler Bergsrud; her loving companion of over 8 years Ken Larson, Crary, ND and his daughters Carrie Ann (Ken) Johnson and Linda Lou (Jason) Stewart; sister Rita Potter, Cavalier, ND and brother Dennis (Kathy) Lee of Devils Lake; one niece and two nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Gail will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday (today) from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Hamlin Cemetery, rural McVille, ND.
