Constance “Connie” Tollefson, 70, of Devils Lake, ND passed away at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks on Saturday evening, October 15, 2016 after a short, but very courageous battle with Cancer.
Funeral Services for Connie will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, ND with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating.
Visitation will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Dick Cemetery, rural Elliot, ND.
Connie the daughter of Mildred (Stroh) Stotts and Delno Weaver, was born August 1, 1946 in Lisbon, ND. She attended elementary school in Elliot, ND. The family moved to Devils Lake in 1956, so that her sister Karen Weaver could attend the North Dakota School for the Deaf and Connie continued her elementary education and onto Devils Lake Central High School. After high school, she attended business school in Fargo, ND.
Connie returned to Devils Lake in 1967 and was married to her only child Kristie’s father, Lawrence Tollefson. They divorced in 1975.
Connie returned to the workforce at that time and held various positions in Devils Lake. She worked for Gamble Robinson as the office manager. When the office closed in Devils Lake, she transferred to the Fargo office for a period of time. Connie then returned to Devils Lake and started working at Swenson Plumbing & Heating as the office manager. She later went to work at the Elks Club 1216 as the office manager and later as the Club Manager until the Club closed. At that time she began employment for Ramsey County Housing and worked there until her retirement in 2013.
Connie enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with Kristie, traveling, going to Rummage sales, gardening, canning or just sitting on the deck in her rocking chair enjoying the lilacs and other flowers. She also enjoyed going to any event that Quincy and Ian were involved in, as they were very special to her.
Connie’s loving family include her only child Kristie Tollefson; 2 special dogs Tucker and Bailey; brothers Jeff (Melissa) Stotts and Jon Stotts all of Devils Lake; nephews and nieces Quincy and Ian Stotts, Matt (Tonya) Lyons, Lexi Koterwas, Jace Lyons and Myra Lyons; very special cousin and friend Gail Cossett.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred and Delno; sister Karen Weaver and very special friend Joseph Everson.
Music will be provided by Sherry Kurtz and Jean Aardahl, pianist. Reading Scripture will be Connie's nephew Quincy Stotts.
