Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, rural Calio, ND. Ernest Herman, son of Chrysanth and Rose (Wengler) Goeser was born on August 11, 1926 on the family farm, Trier Township, rural Calio, ND. He attended Calio Country School and also the Clyde Public School. Ernest farmed with his Dad for many years and later with his brothers. He also had livestock as part of the farming operation for several years. Ernest was united in marriage to Beatrice Fast-Fohr on November 7, 1981 at Munich, ND. They moved a home from the farm into Munich and called it home through the years. Even after retiring, Ernest could not give up farm life and continued to work for his brothers, Owen and Pete and also his nephews Loren, Alan and Brian as a farm hand. He was such an asset to his brothers, he was a talented handyman and could fix anything. After retirement, Ernest also worked as the maintenance and grounds keeper for St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also was employed with Standard Oil when it was owned by Jack Martin and after it was sold to Munich Elevator. Ernest considered farming his work and his hobby. He loved everything about farm life. When he did have spare time, he would never pass up a chance at a game of pinochle and conversation with family and friends. Ernest was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also served on the Cavalier Rural Electric Board for over 15 years. Ernest was a wonderful steward of the land and was thankful for the many blessings in his life. Ernest is survived by his wife Beatrice of Munich, ND; step son Roger (Barbara) Fohr, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Nick (Lindsey) Fohr and twins Matthew Fohr and Lindsay (Steve) Buchhop; great grandsons Carter and Fisher Fohr; brothers George (Rose) Goeser, Moorhead, MN, Maurice (Bernelda) Goeser, Princeton, MN and Owen (Elizabeth) Goeser, Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews and their families and cousins also survive.
