Delbert (Phillip) Bingham

Delbert P. Bingham, 82 of rural Harlow, ND passed to eternity on Thursday evening, November 17, 2016 at his home with family. Mass of Christian Burial for Delbert will be held Wednesday November 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St Williams Catholic Church in Maddock, ND with Father Brian Bachmeier celebrating the Mass. Interment will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery, rural Minnewaukan. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, November 22nd from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Phillip Delbert Bingham was born January 7, 1934 near Minnewaukan in Uncle Charles and Aunt Martha’s house to Fred L. and Josephine S. (Muri) Bingham. He attended country school and worked the family farm, specializing in the dairy operation and horse training. On June 27, 1960 he married Anna J. Jensen in Tokio, ND. They lived on the family farm. His passion was training horses and he enjoyed helping friends with projects. But at the end of the day it was all about watching Westerns and having his family read Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey books to him. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Anna; 7 children, Julia (Dan) Chepulis, Elvina Bingham, Geraldine (Jolly) Ekhator, Timothy Bingham, Paul (Katherine) Bingham, June Morrison and Olivea Bingham; 6 grandchildren, Stacey (Corey), Rachel, Lewis (Melissa), Destiney, Zachary and Pearl and 3 great grandchildren Phillip, Arrianna and Lorena; brother Fred (Ann) Bingham and sister Marie Eback and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sons; Phillip, Lewis, John, Vern, Steven and Gary; brothers and sisters-in-law Francis and Helen Bingham and George and Deloras Bingham and sisters and brothers-in-law Eustean and Rudolph Tollefson, Rosemary and Phillip Leppard, Catherine and Emil Kraft, Patricia Ripplinger, Susan Bingham and Leo Eback. Casket Bearers for Del will be Paul W. Bingham, Dan Chepulis, Lewis Bingham, Zachary Morrison, Richard Kraft, Lawrence Tollefson, Rudolph "Sonny" Tollefson and Richard Lepperd. Honorary Bearers are all of Del's Nieces and Nephews. Reading the Scriptures will be Geraldine Ekhator and Richard Lynne and Gift Bearers will be Stacy and Corey Kartes and Timothy Bingham.
