Amy J. (Pulst) Mosbaek, 93 of Devils Lake formerly of rural Garske, ND passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital. Funeral Services for Amy will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Jim Paulson officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake and will continue at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be directed to the St. Olaf Radio Broadcast Fund in memory of Amy. Amy June, daughter of Arthur and Sadie (Timm) Pulst was born on November 5, 1923 on the family farm, rural Garske, ND. She grew up and was educated in the Garske area and would call Garske her home for 51 years. After graduating from high school, Amy enrolled in the new college, Lake Region Junior College and was a member of the first graduating class in 1942, with a Business major. She entered the work field as a bookkeeper with 1st National Bank in Devils Lake. She was united in marriage to Elmer Mosbaek on October 5, 1945 at the Bergen Lutheran Church and they established their home on the Mosbaek farm, just 4 miles from where Amy was born. Amy and Elmer’s wedding was the last held at the rural Bergen Lutheran Church. Amy was the devoted farm wife, beside her husband for many years. She was active in the community and Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church. In 1973, they retired and moved to Devils Lake where she lived until her death. Elmer died in 1995. Again, Amy became active in the community and St. Olaf Church, WELCA and with the St. Olaf Quilters. She enjoyed membership in the Webster Homemaker’s Club, the Garden Club, Eastern Star, Pioneer Daughters and Farm Bureau Women. Up until just a few weeks ago, you would see Amy helping whenever and wherever she could. Amy was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and tending her flower garden and plants. Whenever she had an opportunity to spoil grandchildren and great grandchildren she was baking their favorites, and was voted “best sugar cookie maker ever” by those precious great grandchildren. Amy was the mother of Allan Mosbaek of Devils Lake and proud grandmother of David (Andrea) Mosbaek and their children Liam and Maddilyn of Shawnee, Kansas, Susan (Robert) Dreyfus and their children Alexander and Abigail of Moapa, Nevada and Beth (Jon) Eide and their children Ethan, Spencer and Paige of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by her sister Ila (Donald) Weed Jud, ND, sisters-in-law Audrey Pulst and Olga Pulst and twenty nephews and nieces. Amy was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; daughter-in-law Nancy Mosbaek; brothers Larry Pulst and Alden Pulst; sisters Ardys Mikkelson and Darlene Carlson and two nephews Gordon Pulst and Rodney Weed. Casket Bearers for Amy will be Doug Baker, Everett Rance, Fred Rance, Kim Pulst, Kent Pulst and Byron Lannoye. Honorary Bearers will be Rick Weed and Randy Weed. Music will be Congregational Hymns and the pianist is Jean Aardahl.
