Georgeline Marie McKay, "Cissy" 66 of Fort Totten, ND began her journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Devils Lake, ND.
A Wake for Cissy will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. from the City Plaza.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten with Father Charles Leute, OP celebrating the Mass. (Services may be held at the Recreation Center depending on the weather.) Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Georgeline Marie was born on August 13, 1950 at Fort Totten, North Dakota the daughter of Jesse and Angeline (Brown) McKay. She was reared and graduated in Flandreau, South Dakota and continued her education at Chinley, Arizona earning a college degree in Business.
Cissy worked for Spirit Lake Tribe for 43 years, until health problems forced her to retire. Cissy loved spending time at the Spirit Lake Bingo and was known as the "Bingo Queen," playing slot machines. She so enjoyed spending time with her sons, grandchildren, and visiting with all her friends and family.
Cissy is survived by her sons: Royce McKay, Dustin McKay, Robin McKay, Casey McKay, and Alden McKay; grandchildren: Delisha Burns, Thomasina McKay, Teagan McKay, Jordain Whitetail, Lorant Jackson, Kaydean McKay, Kennadi Yankton, and Marquese Dubois; great-grandchild: Amiah Burns; sisters: Ramona (John) Chaske, Lorraine "Josie" McKay, Deanna McKay and Rosita McKay, Donna Youngmen, Marilyn Thompson, Sherry Thompson and Cindy Thompson; brothers: Ronald (Connie) McKay Sr., Corbett (Arvella)McKay, Roger (Candace) McKay Sr., Murray (Donna) McKay and Kenneth McKay and Calvin Thompson; special niece Cylah Black, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren.
Cissy was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Angeline; sons: Darren "Nav" McKay and Jason McKay, brothers: Jerome "Sonny" McKay, Patrick McKay, Rodney "Cowboy" McKay, Jesse McKay Jr., and Robert "Sox" McKay, sister: Barbara "Granny" McKay, grandson: Malachi McKay, nephew John Chaske Jr., and niece Melissa Chaske.
