Marian "Pat" Sigette

Marian Patricia "Pat" Sigette, 75, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on November 29, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake after a brief battle with cancer, with her loving family at her side. Marian Patricia Carlson was born March 23, 1941 to Lloyd and Margaret (Anderson) Carlson, at the General Hospital in Devils Lake. She was the oldest of 4 children and the only daughter. She was raised and educated in Warwick, ND, graduating with the Class of 1958 as valedictorian and youngest member of her class. On Dec. 7, 1958, she married Stanley Sigette at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. Stan and Pat had 10 children. Early in their marriage, Pat worked at 1st National Bank in Devils Lake but then became a stay-at-home Mom until all their children reached school age. Pat worked in accounting at Armour's Truck Stop and then in 1987 began working at Lake Region Clinic/Altru Clinic until her retirement in 2010. Pat was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, serving on the Salt Shaker Committee. She enjoyed having coffee with her many friends and looked forward to monthly Birthday Club luncheons. Pat's greatest accomplishments were her ten children. Her pride and joy were her twenty grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pat is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Stan. Children: Loydene Wakefield, Cameron (Karla) Sigette, Devils Lake; Sue (Pearce) Sunderland, Gulfport, MS; Scott (Lisa) Sigette, Devils Lake; Troy (Janelle) Sigette, Bismarck; Mark (Jennifer) Sigette, Sioux Falls, SD; Steven Sigette, Beth (Pete) Schuler, Fargo; Kristen (Chris) Scholand, Shannon (Steve) Bergee, West Fargo. Grandchildren: Aaron, Jeremy, Justin, Brandon, Kayla, Lucas, Amanda, Wyatt, Hunter, Emily, Lane, Madeleine, Laura, Mary, Jacob, Ryker, Miles and Harlow. Great-grandchildren: Hudson and Grace. Brothers: Douglas (Darlene) Carlson, Devils Lake; Dwight "Ike" (Ilene) Carlson, Camrose, ALB; Dallas Carlson (Robyn Stearns), Bismarck; brothers-in-law: Bruce, Wes and Corey Sigette; sisters-in-law: Ellen Solomon and Carla Dunn. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins and several dear friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Lloyd Carlson and Margaret Carlson Quam, step-father Martin Quam, father-in-law Edward Sigette and mother-in-law Pearl Omlie, son-in-law Tom Wakefield. grandson Mikal Wakefield and granddaughter Nikki Wakefield. Funeral Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 with Reverend Tom Westcott officiating. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday, December 1st from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a Time of Remembrance and Prayer at 6:30 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
