Marian (Stappler) Buckley

Marian Buckley, 99, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Marian was born on February 10, 1917 at Devils Lake, ND the 2nd of 10 children born to Jacob and Regina (Gange) Stappler. She was raised and educated in Devils Lake, attending Devils Lake Public Schools. Marion traveled to California where she lived for many years. While in California, Marion met Richard Buckley whom she married. Marian worked with Richard in the restaurant business for many years until they both retired. Richard passed away in 1995. Marian then moved to Arizona to be near her sister, Caroline. Marion eventually moved back to Devils Lake. Marian enjoyed traveling and meeting people. Marian is survived by her sister, Margie Bye, niece, Denise Brandvold, and many other nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Buckley, brothers and sisters, Anne Spangelo, Mary Eva Kraft, Regina Haberlack, Jacob Stappler, Lawrence Stappler, Kathryn Stappler, Tony Stappler and Caroline Hamby.
