Marcella (McKay) Morken, “Ota Wastedakapi Win” (Loved By Many Woman), of Fort Totten, ND passed away on Sunday evening, February 5, 2017 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. She was 51 years of age. Marcella was born on June 27, 1965 in Devils Lake, ND. She is the daughter of Ernest P. and Phyllis M. (Herman) McKay. She was raised in Fort Totten. She attended Fort Totten High School and graduated with the class of “1983”. She was very active in extracurricular activities while in high school. She won several medals as a Cross Country and Track and Field Runner. She even participated in the Junior Olympics as a runner more than once. After high school she continued her education at Lake Region State College receiving her Associates Degree. Further on in life she graduated from Mayville State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Marcella was united in marriage to Dean Morken on July 26, 1991 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fort Totten, ND. They established their home in Fort Totten where they worked and raised their family. Marcella worked for several years at Little Hoop Community College in the business office, and for the past 15 years has worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) as a Realty Specialist, and was employed there at the time of her passing. Marcella was a dedicated employee. She loved her job and co-workers. When she had some leisure time, she loved to read, watch movies, and crochet. She and Dean enjoyed playing in a local Dart League for over 25 years. She loved any time spent in the company of her dear family and friends. Marcella is survived by her husband Dean; children Trisha L. Enubuzor married to Ekeze “Kz” Enubuzor, from Plymouth, MN, Marcus D. McKay, from Fort Totten, ND, Jessica N. Morken, from Fargo, ND, and Kirsten B. Morken, from Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Nikita J., Dayshawn P., and Josiah C. Enubuzor; parents Ernest P. and Phyllis M. McKay, from Fort Totten, ND; siblings Cheryl M. McKay from Webster, SD, Sharon L. Peltier married to Solomon Peltier, from Fort Totten, ND, Ernesta Davidson married to Matt Davidson, from Crary, ND, Erlinda P. McKay, from Devils Lake, ND, Danyelle L. Nelson-McKay, from Warwick, ND, Erick P. McKay, from Fort Totten, ND, Ernest P. McKay Jr. married to Kim McKay, from Minot, ND, Eronn P. McKay from Warwick, ND, Earland R. McKay from Fort Totten, ND; parent-in-laws Norman and Elaine Morken, from McVille, ND, sister-in-law Brenda Morken, from Temucula, CA, sisters-in-law Bobbie Jo Restler married to Rod Restler, from McVille, ND, and Becky Larson married to Kevin Larson, from Cambridge, MN. She was also survived by several aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother Elliott K. McKay. A Wake for Marcella will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center, Fort Totten, ND beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary, Scripture Service and Time of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from the City Plaza, Devils Lake. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with Father Paul Schuster celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery, Devils Lake, ND at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 14th. Casket Bearers for Marcella are Kenny Asleson, Dale Nelson, Brad Johnson, Eronn McKay, Ernest Philip McKay Jr. and Tobias McKay.
