Elouise F. Lauinger, 93 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Monday evening, March 20, 2017 at the Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake surrounded by her loving family. Elouise Frances Lauinger was born April 8, 1923 to Hans and Agatha (Morris) Hansen at Cando, ND. She was raised on a farm helping her family with many of the farming chores, and later she cooked for the thrashing crews.  Elouise was united in marriage to George A. Lauinger on November 3, 1942. They farmed in Morris Township of Ramsey County near Devils Lake where she enjoyed raising their two daughters, her garden, canning and flowers.  They retired in 1977 and moved to Grand Forks, ND.  Elouise and George enjoyed 44 wonderful years together. After the passing of her husband, she moved back to Devils Lake in 1987.  Elouise was a wonderful seamstress. She had Elna Sewing Shop out of her home and did alterations for Glickson’s Stevenson’s Myres, Brauns and Kelly’s.  While she lived in Grand Forks she did alterations for Dayton’s and JC Penneys.  Elouise loved bowling, Bingo, playing cards and doing volunteer work. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society and St. Rita Circle, a lifelong member of the VFW and Eagles Auxiliaries and a Red Hat member.  Elouise is survived by her daughter Marcia (Ed) Hamilton of Devils Lake; five grandchildren Richard (Jodi) Kurtz and Dennis (Nancy) Kurtz both of St. Michael, Carla (Kent) Anderson of Bismarck, ND, Steve (Robbin) Anderson Jr., Grand Forks and Kristi (Jerome) Zulkoski of Burwell, NE; fourteen great grandchildren Danielle Anderson, West Fargo, ND, Samantha Anderson, Blake Anderson, Brad Anderson all of Grand Forks, Matthew (Andrea) Zulkoski, Grand Island, NE, Katie Zulkoski, Mikayla Zulkoski both of Burwell, NE, Sara (Daniel) Hogan, Sahurita, AZ, Alex Kurtz, Valley City, ND, Jessica Kurtz (Christian Boknecht), The Woodlands, TX, Kristina Kurtz (Chris Olson), Valley City, Kierra, Jenna and Emma Anderson all of Bismarck; two great great grandchildren Brennan and Cierrah Anderson, West Fargo; sisters Mary Solseth, Cando, ND and Hazel (Ray) Gores, Tacoma, WA; sister-in-law Helen Hansen, Grand Forks and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George; daughter Carol Kurtz; son-in-law Richard Kurtz; brother Robert Hansen; parents; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Elouise will be missed by many and her memories will stay in our hearts forever. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday, March 26th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. led by Reverend Mr. Ken Severinson, Deacon.  Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.  Pallbearers will be Dennis Windjue, Richard Windjue, Roger Windjue, Larry Bryl, Glenn Hansen, Jeff Solseth and Mary Lou Lepperd. Reading the Scriptures will be Matthew Zulkoski and Gift Bearers will be Steve Anderson Jr., Richard Kurtz, Dennis Kurtz, Kristie Zulkoski and Carla Anderson. Music will be provided by Jodi Kurtz and Audrey Myklebust.  Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist will be Rose Windjue.
