Norman Oram, 88, of rural Devils Lake, ND, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 07, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Norman will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. Rev. Kevin Anderson of River of Life Assembly of God Church will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Norman will be Gary Oram, Gary Verville, John Hornbacher, Steve Verville, Heather Holden and Roxanne Zurn.
Norman Oram was born on February 2, 1920 at the Fisher Farms, north of Devils Lake, the son of Peder and Gjertina (Eidum) Oram. When he was seven years old his family purchased a farm at Six Mile Bay, Devils Lake and the family moved there.
Norman attended Poplar Grove Country School. He entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge, Norman attended South Western Bible Institute in Waxahachie, Texas and Lakewood Park Bible School in Devils Lake. Norman then worked for Paul Swanson, Implement in Devils Lake for several years. Besides farming the family farm, Norman spent time as a machinist in California and as a federal crop adjuster in the Devils Lake area.
Norman enjoyed inventing and writing. He also loved to hunt and fish. He lived on the family farm until his death.

Great Great Nieces and Nephews: Logan Verville, Totyana Monette, Karissa Monette, Tristan Peltier, Nathan Zurn, Samantha Zurn and Ava Zurn along with cousins in Norway and North Dakota.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Helmer Oram; sisters, Hannah (Arnold) Strand and Elsie Oram; niece, Judy (Archie) Harveland.
