Myrtle G. Hanson, 92 of Devils Lake formerly of Starkweather, ND died on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Myrtle will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND. Rev. Robert Buechler will officiate and burial will be in the Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Myrtle will be Dale Adams, Bryan Goffe, Garrett Hanson, Allan Hansen, Joel Anderson, Lyle Johnson and Brad Haugland.
Honorary Bearers will be Bjarne Berg, Don Brintnell, Dennis Adams, Gordon Braathen, Gene Braathen, Harold “Bob” Sager, Oscar Dammen and Bob Reando.

Myrtle was born August 18, 1915 in rural Leeds, Towner County, North Dakota, the youngest of six children born to Hans and Sofie (Mellan) Johnson. Hans and Sofie were immigrants from Norway.
Myrtle attended Wheatland School and North Prairie Lutheran Church north of Leeds.
Myrtle was united in marriage to Harold M. Hanson March 29, 1938 in Starkweather. They had three children. They established their home on a farm near Starkweather where they farmed for 43 years. Up until later years, Myrtle was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Starkweather. In 1981, Harold and Myrtle moved to their retirement home in Devils Lake.
Myrtle is survived by her three children: Esther Goffe and her husband, Stan of Enumclaw, Washington, Richard Hanson and his wife, Karen of Starkweather, ND and Curtis Hanson of Jamestown, ND; grandsons, Bryan, Garrett and Austin and granddaughters, Cassie and Nicole; great granddaughter, Heather and great grandsons, Dallas and Walker and great great granddaughter, Gracey; several nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and in Norway.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on August 6, 2006; father, step-mother, Calma Bjorgo Johnson; sister, Alice Blegen; brothers, Martin, Harold, Knudt and Adolf and half-brother, Russell.
