Regina T. Schall

Regina T. Schall, 88 of Devils Lake formerly of Warwick, ND died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake under the care of Hospice and her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial for Regina will be on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Regina will be her grandsons, Dennis, Jason, Cory, Brent, Jesse and Justin Schall. Gift Bearers will be Jody, Austin, Alyssa and Taylor Schall Music will be provided by Peter A. Hager and JoDee Lagein Regina was born on November 28, 1919 at Devils Lake, the daughter of Sylvester and Gunda (Steffan) Laturnus. At the age of two, the family moved to Wilkie, Saskatchewan, Canada and in 1937 they moved to Manitoba, Canada. In 1945, the family returned to the United States and made their home in Starkweather, ND. Regina was united in marriage to Lawrence Schall of Crary on November 5, 1946 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crary. They established their home in Bisbee and later moved to Warwick, ND where they farmed for 24 years. Regina working side by side with her husband as they farmed and raised their sons, Peter and Paul. In 1973 they retired and moved to Devils Lake where they made their home through the years. Lawrence died on May 24, 2001. Regina was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Theresa Circle. She loved gardening and cooking for her family and many dear friends. Regina is survived by her son, Paul Schall and his wife, June (Trangsrud) of Lakota. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Peter; brothers, Fred, Paul and Joseph Laturnus.
