Lois E. Foss, 77 of Devils Lake, ND died on July 1, 2005 at MeritCare, Fargo, ND. A loving and devoted mother; she will be dearly missed. Funeral Services for Lois will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural Devils Lake, ND. Friends may call at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, July 4, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the church will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Chuck McLean, Al Bergan, Ken Regan, Ken Mantel, Brent McLean, Jon Sanderson, Austin Regan and Jordan Regan. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bob Meier, Ben Meier, Dick Anderson and all of Lois’ many bowling and airport association friends. Music will be provided by Kevin Regan, Soloist and Lynda Pearson, Organist. Lois Elaine Hoyt was born to George and Fannie (Merrick) Hoyt on June 19, 1928 at McHenry, ND. She met Palmer T. Foss at McHenry and married him on February 24, 1951 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Rude performing the ceremony. They lived on and farmed land in Grand Harbor Township. In 1964, they bought a home in Devils Lake where Palmer was a partner in the Foss-Meier Flight Service. Lois was an avid bowler, great cook, great friend and a loving and generous mother. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Lana McLean and her husband, Chuck, Petersburg, ND LaMae Bergan and her husband, Al, Devils Lake LuAnn Regan and her husband, Ken, Fargo Paula Mantel and her husband, Ken, Chicago, Illinois Seven Grandchildren: Jody (Jon) Sanderson, Brent McLean, Alissa Bergan, Austin Regan, Jordan Regan, Victoria Mantel and Elizabeth Mantel. Two Great Granddaughters: Jaden Sanderson and Nicole Sanderson Brother: Chester (Margaret) Hoyt, Clearwater, Minnesota She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Palmer on July 3, 1987; brothers, Curtis “Buzz” Hoyt, Dennis Hoyt, Keith Hoyt and Kenneth Hoyt; sisters, Ada Anderson, Lill Jeffries, Zeta Walhood, Cecil Newsome and Pearl Norstrum.
