William (Willy) Longie Jr. Sungska Akan Ke (Rides a white horse) Began his journey to the Spirit world on Saturday January 12, 2008 A wake will be held on Thursday Jan, 17 2008 at the Fort Totten Recreation beginning at 5PM. Procession will leave from Wal-mart at 4 pm. A Traditional funeral service by John Chaske Sr. will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2 pm at the Ft. Totten Recreation.Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fort Totten. All drum groups and religions are welcome. Active Pallbearers will be: Terry Dunn, Derrick Longie, William Longie IV, Jody White, Daylon White , Napoleon Longie, Chris White & Elmer White III. Honorary Pallbearers: Sonny White, Buddy Alberts, Mark Mudgett, Perry Mudgett, Leonard Fox, Cap Cavanaugh, Demus McDonald, Bob Greywater, Kelly Brown,Don Belgarde Sr., Tony McDonald, Elmer Brown, Mogan Whitetail Sr., Roger Yankton, Pete Belgarde Jr., Kenneth Dunn, Tyrel Alberts, Jimmy Smith, Roy Stone, Hudson Littlewind & family, all his Rodeo friends, all Sundancers, and all his other friends we failed to mention by name during this difficult time. Willy was born on June 13, 1942 in Ft. Totten, ND to William N. Longie Sr. and Jeanette (Hunt) Longie. He attend elementary at St. Michael, ND and high school in Stephan, SD. Willy worked at SMC, DTI and Ft. Totten Community School and Nekoma Missile Site. Willy was always joking and teasing. He enjoyed being around people and making them laugh. Always trying to help people. He enjoyed rodeo and was a bareback rider. He believed in the traditional ways and was a Sundancer. He is survived by: Daughters: Wilma Longie, Henrietta Longie, Leola White and Alvina Thompson. All of Ft. Totten. Lynette Shields of Poplar, Mt. Grandchildren: Jody, Daylon, Jon & Camie White, Elmer III, Kyle, Crystal, Kathy, Krista, Kristie, Chris, and Denise White, Mary & Napoleon Longie, Alvina Longie, Derrick & William IV Longie. All of Ft. Totten, ND Great-grandsons: Marcus & Markel Demarce. - Ft. Totten, ND Adopted daughters: Lavonne Alberts & Annabel Demarce. - Ft. Totten, ND. Tane Lovejoy.-California Adopted son & godchild: Lawrence (George) Alberts Brothers: George (Jeri) Longie Sr. & Fred (Wanda) Longie Sr. - Ft. Totten, ND, Billy Joshua - Devils Lake, ND Sisters: Evangeline White, Bernice Juarez & Yvonne Longie - Ft. Totten, ND Genevieve (Jim) Liberty of Devils Lake, ND Aunt: Maggie (Dennis) Moxness of Devils Lake, ND Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He joins in the Spirit World: His son, William (Boy) Longie III, parents: William N. Longie Sr. and Jeanette Goodhouse, Brothers: Tim Longie Sr., David Longie, Richard Longie, Samuel Longie & Baby Boy Longie. Sister-Vivian Longie. Grandson: Patrick White and all his relatives in the spirit world.
