Gaston Joseph Corneillie, the son of Gaston E. and Helen M. (Depiertere) Corneillie was born on April 24, 1925 in Joliette, North Dakota where he was reared and educated. He farmed for a time with his Dad until he was united in marriage to Theresa (Terri) Pelletier on October 8, 1946 at Joliette. They established their home in Grafton and Jack worked for Dakota Hatchery. They later moved to Park River and Jack was employed with Bridgeman Creamery. He continued his employment with them after moving to Devils Lake in January of 1961. Jack and Terri would continue to make Devils Lake their home through the years. In 1965, Jack began working for North Star Distributors and later for Schwan Wholesale after they purchased the distributorship, until his retirement. Even after retirement, Jack had to keep busy. He worked for a time at Gambles, on construction with Roy Walters and also at the Knights of Columbus Hall. He did especially enjoy carpentry work and helped his children with many of their remodeling projects. Jack was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Even though Jack liked to be busy, he always enjoyed a game of cards and a good joke. Anything that could make a person laugh or smile was always well worth the effort of being said. Jack never forgot his roots as a farmer and always kept up with what was happening with farming today. Jack was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a man of strong faith. This is a memory we shall hold forever in our hearts.
