Michele Danae "Shelly" Bachmeier

Michele “Shelly” D. Bachmeier, 42 of Devils Lake, formerly of Grand Forks and Minot, ND died on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial for Shelly will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. Serving as Casket Bearers for Shelly will be Mike Haight, Matt Elder, Keith Borgerson, Joe Bjerke, Zachary Bachmeier and Chris Boyko. Michele Danae was born on May 25, 1965 at Devils Lake, ND the daughter of Michael and Doris (Krogfoss) Bachmeier. She grew up and was educated in Devils Lake. She attended Josef’s School of Hair Design in Minot and graduated in 1984. Michele’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her two children. Their favorite activities included camping, watching movies at home and being together for the holidays. The 4th of July and watching fire works were some of their most special times. Michele lived, worked and raised her children in Grand Forks, eventually relocating to Minot. While living in Minot, Michele was employed at Gary’s Hair Salon and Tony’s Thrifty Cuts for many years, doing what she loved. Michele loved her family passionately. Her family always came first and her number one concern was for her children and her loved ones well being. We shall forever miss her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile, but will hold her memory in our hearts forever. Michele is survived by her dear children, Justin Smestad and Melisa Smestad both of Minot. Parents: Mike and Doris Bachmeier of Devils Lake Father of her children, Justin and Melisa, Ronald Smestad of Minot Brothers and Sisters: Jean Bjerke and her husband, Joe of St. Cloud, Minnesota Joe Bachmeier and his wife, Sue of Safety Harbor, Florida Jack Bachmeier of Devils Lake Thelma Bachmeier of Minot Rodney Bachmeier of Wahoo, Nebraska Cynthia Borgerson and her husband, Keith of Manvel, ND Monica Bachmeier of Minot Rebecca Bachmeier of Devils Lake Nieces and Nephews: Joy, Amy, Tara, John Jr., Andrew, Kristina, William, Amanda, Sarah, Emily, Zachary, Matthew, Kaitlynn, Danae, Michael, Nicholas and Michelle. Thirteen Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Milton and Anne Bachmeier and Thelma and Charles Krogfoss.
