Lynn Rham

Lynn Rham, 84 of Devils Lake formerly of Rock Lake, ND died on Tuesday evening, December 4, 2007 at his home receiving loving care from his family and Hospice. Funeral Services for Lynn will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Marvin Winstryg will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Lynn will be Wade Christianson, Dale Samuelson, Kevin Samuelson, George Fazekas, Jr., Ardell Clouse and Mark Struxness. Lynn was born on June 9, 1923 on the farm, rural Rock Lake, ND, the son of Frank and Bertha (Bucholz) Rham. He was reared there and received his elementary education in Rock Lake and graduated from Sarles High School in the class of 1941. Lynn was united in marriage to Florence Mosolf on September 19, 1953 at Cando, ND. They established their home on Lynn’s farm in the Rock Lake/Sarles area until 1958 when they became owners and operators of the grocery store in Clyde and later a grocery store in Rock Lake. In 1967, the family moved to Devils Lake where they have continued to make their home through the years. After moving to Devils Lake, Lynn worked at Majestic Cleaners for 10 years and later at the Artclare Motel. Lynn semi-retired in 1985 but also worked part time for Hardee’s for several years. Lynn was a jack of all trades and could fix anything from household repairs and renovation, to cars, motors and small engines and everything in between. Lynn enjoyed visiting with family and friends over a hot cup of coffee or during a good game of cards. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and treasured the time he was able to spend with them. Lynn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence Son: David Rham and his wife, Cindy of Devils Lake Daughter: Marlene Christianson and her husband, Wade also of Devils Lake Four Grandchildren: Nathan Rham of Hillsboro and Nicole Rham of Penn, ND Julie Christianson and Justin Christianson both of Devils Lake Mother-In-Law: Mary MacArthur, Devils Lake Brothers-In-Law: Robert Mosolf and his wife, Donna of Indianapolis, Indiana Kenny Brady of Carrington, ND Sisters-In-Law: Linda Eklund and her husband, Marco of Gilbert, Arizona Louise Rham, Devils Lake Lucille Rham of Rock Lake Several Nieces and Nephews and their families also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Francis, Ted and Ernest Rham; sisters, Alice Clouse and Edna Steffer.
