Ethel Kolstad Dahl, 87 of McVille, formerly of Warwick, ND died on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Nelson County Health Systems Care Center, McVille, ND
Funeral Services for Ethel will be held on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Warwick Lutheran Church, Warwick. Rev. David Nichols will officiate and burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Ethel will be Ervin Hultgren, Matthew Hultgren, Russell Wallace, Jesse Wallace, David Wallace and Josh Joramo.
Music will be Congregational Hymns with Ellen Burthold as organist.
Ethel, the daughter of Willy and Hazel (Lott) Prescott was born on June 15, 1920 at rural McHenry, ND. She was reared and educated in the McHenry/Juanita area, attending country school. Ethel was united in marriage to Vernon Kolstad on October 11, 1940 in New Rockford. They established their home on the farm near Warwick where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. Vernon died on September 24, 1980. Ethel continued to make her home on the farm.
In 1985, Ethel married Alvin Dahl. They made their home in Tolna until Alvin’s death, then Ethel returned to Warwick. For the past 2 years, Ethel has been a resident at the Nelson County Care Center in McVille.
Ethel was a member of the Warwick Lutheran Church and Senior Citizens Club and also the Tolna Lutheran Church and Senior Citizens Club.
Ethel enjoyed crocheting, sewing and other needle and thread handiwork. Ethel loved family and friends and treasured each day she was able to spend time with them.
Ethel is survived by her loving son, Edward Kolstad of Warwick

Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Verna Kolstad; husbands, Vernon Kolstad and Alvin Dahl and brother, William “Bud” Prescott.
