Vernell Wilfred Jackson, Jr., infant son of Amanda E. Robertson and Vernell Jackson was born and died on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND Vernell was a 5th Generation descendent of the late Chief Waanatan. Funeral Services for Vernell will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Fr. Paul Ruge will be the celebrant and burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. The procession to St. Michael’s Catholic Church will leave from Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Serving as Casket Bearers for Vernell will be Anthony Ironhawk and Kyle Ironhawk Vernell Jr. is survived by his parents, Amanda Robertson of Fort Totten Vernell Jackson of St. Michael, ND Paternal Grandparents: John Sherman Patricia Robertson both of St. Michael Maternal Grandparents: Thomas Robertson Jr. Lori LaFloe both of Fort Totten Paternal Great Grandparents: Wilfred Jackson Doris Longie both of St. Michael Maternal Great Grandparents: Leona LaFloe of Belcourt Elaine Robertson, Fort Totten Helena Littleghost, St. Michael Libby Littleghost also of St. Michael Pauline Graywater, St. Michael Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Robertson Sr. and Lawrence “Gil” LaFloe; aunt, Brandi Robertson and uncle, Dwight “Wicha” Hunt.
