Robert A. Erickstad, “Bob” 74, of Starkweather, ND died on Wednesday, May 04, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake, ND. Funeral Services for Bob will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church, Starkweather, ND. Rev. Robert Buechler will officiate and burial will be in the Assumption of Mary Catholic Cemetery, Starkweather, ND. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Music will be Congregational Hymns with Carol Sue Pederson as Organist. Robert Arthur Erickstad was born on November 9, 1930 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Arthur and Esther (Dahlstrom) Erickstad. He attended the Sullivan Township School and graduated from Starkweather High School in the class of 1948. On October 5, 1963, Robert was united in marriage to Maxine Griggs in Reynolds, ND. They established their home in Starkweather where they lived, worked and raised their family. Robert spent most of his life farming. He also worked for the Starkweather School as a custodian and bus driver. He served as the Starkweather City Auditor for 25 years. Robert had several pastimes. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, bowling and watching sporting events especially those at the Starkweather High School. Robert was a member of Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eagles and Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Sons: Craig Erickstad of Fargo, ND Kevin Erickstad of Starkweather, ND Gary Erickstad also of Starkweather Jason Erickstad of Fargo Daughters: Renae Braaten and her husband, Kyle of Manvel, ND Terri Schuler and her husband, Gary of Grand Forks Granddaughter: Natalie Braaten Sisters: Phyllis Arnold and her husband, Avery, Denver, Colorado Edith Wass, Starkweather Sylvia Morrehouse and her husband, Dean, Spokane, Washington Brother: Clayton Erickstad and his wife, Mavis, Starkweather Brother-In-Law: Ervin “Bud” Unger, Colorado Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
