Eileen A. Dix, 82, Devils Lake, formerly of Starkweather, ND died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Eileen will be held on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Marvin Winstryg will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the church will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Nolan Dix, Tyrone Dix, Pamela Pearson, Cathy Saele, Kimberly Leslie, Tonya Boynton, Tammie Skari and Travis Corneillie.
Eileen Annie Strong was born May 10, 1922 in Hampden, ND. She was the daughter of Homer and Bertha (Glock) Strong. Eileen was reared and educated in the Hampden, Loma and Alsen areas. On September 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to John Dix in Cando, ND. They established their home in rural Cando. They farmed near Starkweather until 1980 when they then moved into Devils Lake and in 2000 they moved to the Odd Fellows. Eileen enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always looked forward to receiving new photos. Eileen worked at Mercy Hospital, Quicks Grocery Store, Carlson Bakery and enjoyed babysitting until retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John
