Bernice J. Nelson, 72 of Lakewood, formerly of Palmdale, California died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at her home. A Memorial Service for Bernice will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.with Eugene Dick officiating. Music will be provided by Marjorie Dick, Dianna Dick, Marjean Haugen, Gene Rosinski, Josh Haugen and Jordon Kuchera Bernice Josephine, the daughter of Clarence and Pauline (Berger) Wroolie was born on December 21, 1935 at Mandan, North Dakota. She grew up and was educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School. Bernice was united in marriage to Duane Nelson in 1962. They established their home in Palmdale, California where they lived, worked and raised their family. Here Bernice worked as a legal secretary for over 30 years. Bernice and Duane moved to Lakewood in the spring of 1996 after Duane retried from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation and have since made Lakewood their home. Bernice enjoyed reading, TV and spending time with her children and grandchildren every summer. Bernice is survived by her husband of 45 years, Duane Daughters: Linda Ramsey and her husband, Bayne of Colorado Springs, Colorado Sandra Canet and her husband, Robert of Lafayette, Oregon Karen Claud and her husband, Victor of Waxahachie, Texas Eleven Grandchildren: David Ramsey, Christopher Ramsey, Jennifer Ramsey, Hannah Ramsey, Josephine Ramsey, Jonathan Jarrell, Megan Jarrell and Nicholas Jarrell; Robby Canet; Chelsey Claud and Grayson Claud. Sister-In-Law: Marjorie Dick and her husband, Eugene of Cando, ND Brothers-In-Law: Roger Nelson and his wife, Debbie of Little Falls, Minnesota Ronald Nelson of Aloha, Oregon Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dick Wroolie and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Mae Nelson.
