Henry A. Noltimier, 78, of Devils Lake formerly of Churchs Ferry, North Dakota died on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Funeral Services for Henry will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Churchs Ferry. Reverend Betty Stedman will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, May 3 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Music will be cared for by Tom Wade, Soloist and Doris Michels, Organist. Serving as pallbearers will be Henry’s Nephews, Dr. Russ Petty, Bill Petty, Rick Petty, Don Noltimier, Dwight Noltimier, Doug Schell and brother-in-law, Roger Knutson. Henry A. Noltimier was born on September 6, 1926 on the family farm near Churchs Ferry, ND the son of Roy and Grace (Dingman) Noltimier. He attended school at Churchs Ferry through the tenth grade. He then stayed at home to help his father farm. He enlisted into the United States Army on April 10, 1946 at Ft. Snelling, MN. He served his country during World War II stationed in the Philippines and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1947 at Ft. Snelling with the rank of Technician 5th Grade. After serving his country, he worked for the Soil Conservation at Cooperstown, ND. On July 2, 1949 he was united in marriage to Dolores Knutson, the daughter of Albert and Thilda (Erickson) Knutson of Leeds, ND. He remained with the Soil Conservation until he began to work as a diesel mechanic at Houtcooper Implement in Cando, ND. He then became more involved in the family farm and eventually took it over. With his farming, Henry also did some commercial grain hauling by semi. He was very active in NFO. Henry and Dolores raised five daughters who each inherited a part of his personality. Too many people, Henry was a quiet and reserved man, but his family knew and loved his unique sense of humor. They continued to live on the farm until 1999 when they moved to Devils Lake due to flooding. Henry will be greatly missed by is wife; Dolores of Devils Lake Daughters and Sons-In-Law; Linda and Ned Van Dyke of West Fargo, ND Judy Dawson and fiancé Jim Moors of Ocean Shores, WA Diane and John Nevers of Albuquerque, NM Cheryl and Russel Sailer of Cambridge, MN Laurie and Allen Wickstrom of Bowman, ND Grandchildren; Brandon (Terri) Van Dyke, West Fargo Christopher (Dawn) Dawson, Athol, Massachusetts Chondra (Adam) Norman, Albuquerque, New Mexico Meghan Nevers, Heidi Nevers, Joshua Nevers and Matthew Nevers, all of Albuquerque Mark Sailer, Kristen Sailer, Cambridge Lindsey Wickstrom, Kayla Wickstrom, Paul Wickstrom, and Jessica Wickstrom all Bowman Five Step-Grandchildren; Ron (Carla) Van Dyke, West Fargo Rick Van Dyke, Fargo Tammy (Ron) Scherling, Minneapolis, MN Sandy (Tracy) Belle, Bowman Chad Van Dyke, Seattle, Washington Seventeen Great Grandchildren Three Great-Great Grandchildren Sister; Luella Melroy of Fargo, ND Brother; Louis Noltimier, M.D. of Altlanta, GA Many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends also survive. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Donald and Warren Noltimier and sister; Alice Petty.
