Veronica Agnes Boyd

Veronica A. Boyd, 95 of International Falls, Minnesota, formerly of Devils Lake, ND died on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Falls Good Samaritan Center, International Falls, MN Veronica was a life long resident of Devils Lake and moved to International Falls to be near her niece, Toni Shermoen in 2002. Funeral Services for Veronica will be held on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph Christensen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. The Catholic Daughters will lead the Rosary for Veronica at 9:30 a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral Mass. Veronica Agnes Burckhard was born on July 23, 1909 in Odessa, Russia to Felix and Regina (Kuntz) Burckhard. She made the journey to the new country with her family at the age of 8 months in 1910. She attended Devils Lake Schools and worked at Mann’s Department Store in Devils Lake, where she managed the Ladies Ready to Wear. Veronica was united in marriage to Howard B. Boyd on June 12, 1944 at Devils Lake. They established their home in Devils Lake where they lived and worked through the years. Howard died on July 2, 1999. Veronica was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters and a past member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
