Miriam C. Ross, “eya” (Stone), 40 of Fort Totten, ND died on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the Northwood Hospital, Northwood, ND.
Funeral Services for Miriam will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio, ND. Pastor Larry Thiele and Pastor Larry and June Lockwood will officiate and burial will be in the Bdecan Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Tokio.
A Wake and Prayer Service will be held at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church on Friday, May 13, 2005 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
A Procession to Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church will leave the former Lake Country Auto Parking Lot, Devils Lake on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Mena Shaw, Cheryl Tomahawk, Darlene Feather, Debbie Guy, Curtis L. Ross and All of Miriam’s Relatives, Friends and Cousins and the Doctors and Nurses of Northwood Hospital and Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Active Pallbearers: George Green, James Littleghost, Todd White, Melvin Peoples, Jr., Terrance Guy, Rossi Green, Dustin Feather and Paul Cavanaugh.
Music will be provided by Ray Flying Nice, June and Larry Lockwood and the Sundancers.
Miriam Christine Ross was born in Devils Lake, ND at Mercy Hospital on February 8, 1965 to Katie Ross and Melvin Peoples, Sr. She attended St. Michael’s School and the Fort Totten High School. Miriam had a gentle spirit and smile, to all that knew her. Miriam is home now with the Lord and the Spirit World.

Half Brothers: Melvin Peoples Jr., Gene Paul and Ralph Peoples
Aunts: Mrs. Eunice Green, Margie Ross, Amelia Kjelaas, Beryl Dubois, Mrs. Priscilla (Omar) Touche and Ardell Guy.
Uncles: Victor Peoples, Kenneth Dunn, Jerry Guy, Adrian Lee Guy, Don Ray Guy and Jerome Guy.
Special Nieces: Kristine Dawn Ross and Shay la Leigh Ross
Many Cousins and Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Miriam was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Ross; father, Melvin Peoples, Sr.; brother, Delvin Ross; grandparents, Virginia and Peter Peoples and Mr. George and Christine Ross; niece Pamela Ross; uncles, Vincent Peoples, Wilfred Peoples, Raphael Peoples and Ronald Guy.
