Edward E. Cox, 88, Devils Lake, died Monday May 2, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
His funeral service will be Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Edward Earl Cox was born July 20, 1916 on the Perkins farm rural Devils Lake, North Dakota the son of John R. and Cora (Perkins) Cox. He was reared and educated in South Minnewaukan Township, rural Crary, North Dakota. He worked for J. O. Perkins on the Dairy Farm and later was with the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp.) in Casselton, N.D. and Hinckley, Minnesota. He lived and worked on the Orrin Cox family farm for a number of years until his retirement. Edward moved into the Odd Fellows Village in Devils Lake in 1986 and into the Good Samaritan Center in 2003.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Blanche Mae Frith, brothers, Ralph, Orrin and John Cox Jr.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Barry Cox, Donald Pershke, Mike Mertens, John Frith, Jerry Frith and Wayne Pershke.
