Daniel T. Gross, 93 of Devils Lake died on Saturday afternoon, April 30, 2005 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph Christensen will celebrate the Mass. Graveside services will be held at the Carrington Cemetery on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday, May 5, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Chuck Daniels, Gary Gjevre, Kirk Shipley, Jr., Lee Nelson, James Gross, Pete Kautzman, John Hoppe III and Wayne Morlock.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dan Genre, Harold Baker, Fabian Noack, Cecil Messer, Charles “Bud” Schock, Gerald “Artie” Allmaras.
The eulogy will be given by Christopher Gunn
Reading the Scriptures will be Kris Nelson and Shirley Gross
Gift Bearers will be: Shawn Morlock, Cassie Morlock and Abby Morlock
Music will be Congregational Hymns and JoDee Lagein, Organist
Daniel Ted Gross was born to John and Lydia (Wahl) Gross on September 24, 1911 in Cleveland, ND. He was raised and educated in rural Cleveland. He worked on the family farm with his father until 1936. In 1935, Daniel was united in marriage to Laura Bitz. They established a farm and ranch near Carrington, ND. He sold the farm to his sons in 1995. In 1989, he was united in marriage to Katherine Gunn, They made their home in rural Devils Lake.
Dan was an avid hunter, fisherman and had a genuine love for the land he farmed. Dan served on the Foster County Township Board for over 40 years. He will be forever missed by those who call him husband, father and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy
