ROGER KELLY Roger passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Roger will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rachel Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Hillside Cemetery at Oberon. Music will be provided by Keith Warner. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 1:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Reception will be held at Heartland Court #3 following services on Tuesday. Roger was born on July 8, 1912 in Benson County to John and Grace (Chance) Kelly. He was reared on the family farm and married Irene Olson on Jan. 19, 1938. They lived on the Kelly farm for several years before purchasing land of their own. Farming was an occupation that he thoroughly enjoyed until he retired in 1976. Upon retirement, he and Irene spent the winters in California and Arizona, but always returned to ND for the rest of the year. They moved to Sunwest Acres in Devils Lake in 1994 where they enjoyed the remainder of their days. Roger will be sorely missed by his family. Survivors include his daughter, Margelane Tarbell; Grandsons: Kevin Tarbell, Jeff Tarbell and wife Kim; Great-Grandaughters: Kelly, Jennifer and Amanda Tarbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Iris: and brothers, Ray, Kenneth and Cecil Kelly;
