Robert "Bob" Gibson
Robert "Bob" Gibson, age 41, of Mankato, died on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, MN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in Mankato, MN at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Local visitation will be held on Friday, November 25 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Devils Lake, ND. Graveside Service will be on Saturday November 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Cemetery in Starkweather, ND. Lunch will follow the burial at Trinity-Bergen Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to any cancer related charities.
Bob was born to Janet Jepson on February 17, 1964 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND and was adopted by Ray and Edith Gibson of Garske, ND. He graduated from Starkweather High School in 1983. Bob was united in marriage to Cheryl A. Erickstad on July 27, 1985 in Anchorage, AK. Soon after they were married they moved back to North Dakota where Bob obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of North Dakota in 1991 and a Juris Doctorate from UND School of Law in 1996. In January of 1997, Bob, Cheryl and their daughter Tessa moved to Mankato. Bob was a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and a founding partner of Eskens, Gibson, & Behm Law Firm. Bob was also a member of the Mankato Elks Lodge #225, the Mankato Moose Lodge #1414, and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato. Bob left an impression on people that he met, especially in his illness. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and advice.
Bob is survived by his wife Cheryl (Curtis and Vonnie Erickstad) and daughter Tessa of Mankato, mother Edith of Devils Lake, ND, and brother Raymond of Grand Forks, ND.
Bob is preceded in death by his father Ray.
