Janet “Jan” M. Taylor, 72 of Plymouth, MN formerly of Devils Lake, ND died on Friday, January 30, 2009 at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Jan will be Tom Maloney, David Nelson, Dick Halvorson, Geoff Pearson, Dennis Sigvaldson and Scott Shipley.

Janet Marie was born on January 9, 1937 at Devils Lake, the daughter of Richard and Sally (Norswing) Moritz. She was reared and educated in Devils Lake, graduating from Central High School in 1954. She attended two years of Nurses Training at UND, Grand Forks. Jan was united in marriage to Philip R. Taylor on March 3, 1957 at Devils Lake. They established their home in Grand Forks for a short time, then returned to Devils Lake where they began farming, 10 miles East of Devils Lake. They lived, worked side by side and raised their family through the years. While living in Devils Lake, Jan worked at Lake 3 Theater and was very active in the Democratic Party. In 1991, they moved to Plymouth, MN where they have since made their home. While living in Plymouth she worked for Midcontinent Theaters.
Jan had many talents and excelled in art and painting, working with Bob Moore for several years. Jan was also very active with Pioneer Daughters and served as President.
Jan is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Philip of Plymouth

Granddaughter: Samantha Green, Wahpeton
Several nieces and nephews and their families also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Theresa Taylor; brother, Dean Moritz and twin sister, Joan Moritz.
