Catherine “Kay” Rohrer, 85 of Devils Lake, ND died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND.
Funeral Services for Catherine will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Rafe Allison will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Serving as Casket Bearers for Catherine will be her grandsons, Jason Rohrer, Josh Rohrer, Brian Langdale, Chris Langdale, Barry Rohrer, Paul Rohrer and Kory Eidsness.
Music will be provided by Jodi Kurtz, soloist and Brenda Swenseth, pianist.
Catherine was born April 29, 1923 at Orrin, North Dakota, the daughter of Frank and Anastasia (Fronk) Fritel. She was raised and educated in Sandale School, rural Orrin. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital at Rugby for 5 years and at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake for 25 years. Catherine was united in marriage to Lynn Rohrer on February 4, 1947 in Sydney, Montana. They made their home in Rugby and in 1951 moved to Devils Lake where she lived until her death.
Catherine was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, the WELCA and Faith Circle and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Catherine was very active in several volunteer programs, the RSVP Advisory Board, the Senior Center Management Board, Senior Center Club, Senior Center Craft Club, Senior Center Card Recycle, Good Samaritan Center Beauty Shop and Bingo Day and also the Heartland Care Center Beauty Shop. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, stitching, sewing and any variety of craft projects.
Kay is survived by her loving family. Her children, Roger Rohrer and his wife, Teresa of Underwood, ND;
Rodney Rohrer and his wife, Marilyn of Moffit, ND; Rhonda Langdale and her husband, Dennis of Beatrice, Nebraska; Ritch Rohrer and his wife, Mona of Bismarck, ND and Renae Eidsness and her husband, Kelby of Northland, Colorado.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn on October 3, 1971; brothers, John, Rudy and Steve Fritel and sisters, Elizabeth Marquart and Lena Ripplinger.
