Cheryl Lynn Feather, Wa Wakiyena Wiñ yan (Snow Dove Woman) began her earthly journey on December 11, 1977 at Devils Lake, ND. She began her journey to the Spirit World on December 20, 2008 at Devils Lake, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. She was the daughter of Catherine Two Hearts and the late Stacy Feather Sr. A Wake will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten. Fr. Charles Leute, O.P. will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Crow Hill. The Procession to the Fort Totten Recreation Center will leave Wal-Mart Parking Lot at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Honorary Bearers for Cheryl will be Tina Ross, Ann Skadsem, Brenda Joshua, Melissa Denne, Fawn Poitra, Darrick and Penelope Jackson, Jonelle Walking Eagle, Roberta Brown, Nellie RedOwl, Wanda Waanatan, Melissa TwoHearts, Arlis LittleWind, Kaylene Littlewind, Sher-Rae TwoHearts, Faye Thomas, Crystal TwoHearts, Jana McDonald, JoAnn McDonald, Elrae Potts, Melissa Chaske, Norberta Lafountain, Doris Nelson, Devonne Robertson, Cora Tiger, Lisa Feather and Camey DuBois. Active Casket Bearers will be Edward LaVallie, Tony LaVallie, Austin Littlewind, Lionel Littlewind, Elton TwoHearts, Cletus TwoHearts and Bernard TwoHearts. Music will be provided by the Lake Region Drum Group and Tony and Vina McDonald. Cheryl was a very beautiful and kind-hearted person. She loved spending time with her children, family and cousins. Growing up, she attended Head Start, Four Winds Public School, Wahpeton Boarding School and then went on the Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. She later returned home and received her GED from the Adult Learning Center at Cankdeska Cikana Community College, Fort Totten. As a teen she worked on the summer Youth Program and later worked as a Black Jack Dealer and also was the dealer for the Jim Dandy tournaments at the Spirit Lake Casino for some time. As a young girl, she liked dancing fancy shawl at Pow-Wows. She also loved attending and traveling to various rodeos in the summer time. She enjoyed playing darts and did participate on the Dart League. Cheryl really enjoyed playing Bingo and the slot machines. Most of all, Cheryl loved being with her children and family. She will be dearly missed and loved by all who she shared her life with. Cheryl is survived by her loving family. Her mother, Catherine (Mike) TwoHearts; Daughters: Kaylece, Kaylee and Charis Littlewind; Sons: Nevada Feather-Littlewind and Austin Cody Littlewind: Sisters: Shirlene (Michael) Feather and Ila (Robert) Feather; Brothers: Richard (Ashley) Feather, Stacy Feather Jr., Calvin (Shayla) Feather and Sheldon DogSkin; Two half sisters and one half brother; Special Friend of twelve years, Austin J. Littlewind; Special Nieces: Shirissa and Michaela Buckles; Special Aunt: Annie TwoHearts Woods; Uncles: Jerome TwoHearts, Mike TwoHearts, Jr., Francis TwoHearts, Cletus TwoHearts, Bernard (Virginia) TwoHearts and Isaac TwoHearts. Aunts: Carol (King) TwoHearts, Pattie TwoHearts and Becky TwoHearts; Godparents; Carol and Isaac TwoHearts Other aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Antoine Jade Littlewind; infant daughter, Kaylynn Jean Littlewind; father, Stacy J. Feather Sr.; maternal grandparents, Michael and Rachel TwoHearts; paternal grandparents, Charles Feather and Josephine Adolph; other aunts, uncles, cousins and nephew, Terrence RedOwl. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Spirit Lake Ambulance, Dr. Downs and Dr. Martin.
