Glen E. Bye, 77 of Devils Lake formerly of Crary, ND died on Friday evening, September 9, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Glen will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Lay Pastor, Don Reynolds will officiate and burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Crary, North Dakota. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dr. S. Bharath, all members of the VFW, and the caring staff of Mercy Hospital, the Good Samaritan Center and the Odd Fellows Home.

Glen Ernest Bye was born on November 22, 1927 at Devils Lake, ND the son of Gunder and Tillie M. (Monshaugen) Bye. He was reared and educated in the Crary area, graduating from Crary High School in 1946. He graduated from Wahpeton School of Science as a certified electrician. Glen then enlisted in the United States Army on July 18, 1952, serving his country during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge on December 28, 1953, Glen returned to the Crary area and worked for Lake Electric and Clarence Liere. He also cared for his mother. In 1981 he moved to Devils Lake where he made his home through the years. Glen retired in 1989, but continued to do electrical wiring on a part time basis for several years.
Glen was a baptized and confirmed member of Crary Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the VFW Club and the Eagles Lodge.
