Ruth Elizabeth Thomason

Ruth E. Thomason, 78 of Devils Lake, North Dakota died on August 31, 2005 in Tucson, Arizona. Funeral Services for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Marvin Winstryg will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Ruth’s Grandsons Music will be provided by Mary Oehlke, Soloist and Lynda Pearson, Organist Ruth Elizabeth Hoistad was born on April 12, 1927 to Oscar O. and Bertha (Haas) Hoistad in Degroat Township, Garske, ND. Ruth was baptized in Chain Lakes Lutheran Church and attended rural Ramsey County schools and Devils Lake High School. She married William Thomason on August 1, 1947. William passed away November 11, 1963. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Devils Lake. Ruth enjoyed listening to music, flower gardening, reading, traveling and being with family. She will always be remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her spirit will live on forever through the memories of her laughter and love. Ruth will be forever in the hearts of her children: Michael (Candice) Thomason Steven Thomason Shelley Thomason Christie Thomason Nine Grandchildren: David, Blaine, Michele (Tom), Steven, Kelly, Michael, William, Ashley and Garrett. Three Great Grandchildren Brother: Kenneth (Florence) Hoistad Sister: Donna (Merwin) Colson She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah; infant Nadine Ann; brothers, Wayne and Vernon Hoistad.
