Pauline M. Zimmer, 80, of Munich, ND died on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, ND. Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Munich. Fr. Tony Hession will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday from 9:00 a.m until 3:00 p.m. and at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Munich from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at the church at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers will be all of Pauline’s Grandsons Gift Bearers will be all of Pauline’s Granddaughters Reading the Scriptures will be Cindy Zimmer Music will be provided by St. Mary’s Church Choir with Jane Wirth as organist Pauline Marie Steffan was born on October 12, 1924 at Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Jack and Katherine (Mitzel) Steffan. She was reared in the rural Webster area, attended the Cato Township Country School and graduated from Webster High School in the class of 1943. She attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. Pauline was united in marriage to Roman J. Zimmer on November 22, 1949 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, rural Crary, ND. They established their home on the farm at rural Munich where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. Roman died on September 16, 2001. Pauline continued to make her home on the farm. Pauline was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altar Society and Christian Mothers. She was a very active member of the community and was involved in almost all of the many religious, civic and social organizations of Munich. Pauline enjoyed playing cards, sewing and tending her garden. She loved to entertain all of her family and friends and was the hostess of many, many coffee parties in Munich. Above all, Pauline was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. Pauline is survived by her children: Marla Endres and husband, Joel of North Mankato, Minnesota Ruth Gurley and husband, Jim of Winter Springs, Florida Richard Zimmer and wife, Cindy of Munich Lyann Rust and husband, Greg of Bellingham, Washington Mike Zimmer of Munich Mark Zimmer and wife, Kyza also of Munich Grandchildren: David, Thomas and Jeremy Endres, North Mankato; Joseph Gurley, Houston, Texas and Christopher Gurley, Winter Springs; Erin (Luther) Dietrich, Valley City, ND, Peter Zimmer, Washington, DC, Steven Zimmer, West Fargo, ND Molly (Matt) Jones, Atlanta, Georgia, Anthony, Kassie and Tucker Zimmer all of Munich; Emily, Eric and Adam Rust, Bellingham; Dustin, Griffin, Elyssa and Cooper Zimmer all Munich; Great Grandchildren: Dawson and London Dietrich Sisters and Brothers: Mary Wilhelmi, Devils Lake Pete Steffan, Michigan, ND Phil Steffan, Devils Lake Frank Steffan, rural Devils Lake Elizabeth Schall, Devils Lake She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jean; husband, Roman; brother, Conrad Steffan.
