Dennis Lee was born on June 1, 1936 at Starkweather, ND the son of Emil and Lillian (Smith) Lindenberg. He was reared and educated in the Starkweather area attending country school. He spent his working years farming and raising cattle; first in the Starkweather area, then in 1971, he and his brother, Leo bought a farm in the Crocus area.
