Faron L. Blueshield, “Hoksina Tokaheya” (Oldest Boy) 52 of Tokio, ND died on Friday evening, October 3, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Faron will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Dacotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio, ND at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dave Jore officiating. Burial will be in the Native American Cemetery, rural Tokio. A Wake will be held at the Dacotah Oyate Church on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church will leave from the Wal-Mart Parking Lot on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Serving as Casket Bearers for Faron will be Vandis Little, Delson Little, Jaston Blueshield, James Bear, Jr., Tennyson Blueshield, Joseph Kelly Blueshield, Elijah Green and Pierre Pretty Weasel Jr. Honorary Bearers will be Daniel Redroad, Michael Thompson Jr., Craig and Bernadette Brown, Cory Christofferson, Lisa Burdick, Kenny Longie, Gary Longie, Roland Johnson, Russell Brown, Terrence Guy, Chris Johnson, Ronnie Walking Eagle, Audrey Belgarde, Pete Belgarde Jr., Conrad Cavanaugh, Duane Jackson, Aloysius Cloud, Maxine Longie, Debbi Guy, Belinda Longie and Delbert Hopkins. Special Music will be provided by Arnie CalfBossRibs, Naomi Damschen, Loretta Stensland and the grandchildren will sing “Jesus Loves Me”. Faron Lee Blueshield was born on March 21, 1956 at Devils Lake, ND to Abraham and Violet (Littleghost) Blueshield. He was a life long resident of the Woodlake community. He attended elementary school K-6 at Tokio, grades 7-11 at Warwick Public School and his senior year was at Four Winds Community School. His employment was in the area of security. He worked as a Security Guard at the former Families First building, Dacotah Oyate Lutheran Church and the Boys and Girls Club. The Spirit Lake Casino was his most recent place of employment and there he was known by his friends as “Fox Trot”. Faron enjoyed fishing, beading and watching movies and was an avid reader. He enjoyed taking time to visit with his many dear friends. But most of all, Faron loved spending time with all of his nieces and nephews. Faron is forever loved and will be forever missed by his dear loving family. Faron is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Iron Cloud of Wolf Point, Montana; Brother: Alvin Blueshield; Sisters: Julie (Roland) Johnson, June Blueshield, Sheila Blueshield, Darla (Larry) Thiele, Karen (Kenny) Longie, Adeline (Duane) Jackson and Joan Little; Adopted Brothers: Duane Guy and Andy Moore Adopted Family: Auntie Evelyn Black, Ben, Scott, William, Claude and Connie Black, Sharon Mudgett, Brandon and Sheldon Black and Jerry Cook; Special Cousins: Lorna Walking Eagle, Patti Sam, Monica and Eric Dubois, Martina Mattson, Valerie Paul, Delilah Herald, Kevin Blueshield, Joseph Kurt Blueshield, Lynette Perez, Clayton and Harlan Blueshield, Tammy and Ronnie Greywater, Jolene Mitzel, Rocky Hill, Philip and Buddy Longie, Larry, Arlene and Laverne Littleghost; Uncles: Herbert and Martin Blueshield; Aunt; Mary Hall of Sioux Valley, Manitoba, Canada; Special Nephew: Keahna Little; Special Niece: Sydney Ramsey; Special Granddaughter: Kersten Fawn Redfox; He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Emerson, George and Peter; sisters, Mary Ellen and Sharon; nieces and nephews, Devon Fox, Dennis Blueshield, Baby Meryl Iron Hawk, Valdon Redfox, Bruce Clark and cousins, Sandy Blueshield and Rachel Blueshield.
