Allen A. Alberts, Sr., 59 of Fort Totten, ND our beloved father, special friend, grandpa, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin passed on to be with his relatives in the Spirit World with his children, special friend and family by his side at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo on Wednesday, February 16, 2005.
Wake services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Charles Leute, Fr. Paul Ruge and Deacon Tony McDonald officiating. Burial will be held at the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fort Totten with Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post #6547.
All religious denominations are welcome to attend the wake and funeral services throughout the night and day at the Fort Totten Recreation Center.

Allen Arthur Alberts was born on March 1, 1945 to George and Alvina (Jerome) Alberts at Fort Totten, ND. He graduated from Maddock High School in May of 1964. On October 23, 1964 he joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country. Allen served on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam Conflict and served two tours of duty. He was Honorably Discharged on October 22, 1970 with the rank of Interior Communications Electrician 3rd Class and had received several medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Commendation Ribbon and the Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars. After his discharge, he attended the Mitchell Area Vocational Technical School in Mitchell, South Dakota. He graduated in May of 1972 with a degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. He was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs as an electrician/maintenance worker for many years until he was forced to retire due to his health. While working for the BIA, he served as a Fireman. He also worked part-time for the Fort Totten Housing Authority as an electrician/maintenance repair man. Allen was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #6547 of the Spirit Lake Nation.
Our dad, grandpa, special friend, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew will be greatly missed and was loved very much by his family and extended family. Allen loved his two children, three grandchildren and special friend very much and he was a strong and brave man who provided for his family.
