Dolores C. Berg, 81 of Devils Lake formerly of Calio, ND died on Friday evening, February 11, 2005 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Joseph Christensen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation on Thursday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Dale Bernardy, Richard Bernardy, Scott McArthur, Ron Tholkes, Casey Berg and Wayne Mueller.
Reading the Scriptures will be Marlene Jorgenson
Gift Bearers will be Stephanie Mikkelson and Sarah Berg
Music will be cared for by JoDee Lagein.
Dolores Catherine Bernardy was born on June 17, 1923 at Munich, ND the daughter of Peter and Julia (Krause) Bernardy. She attended the Trier Township School and also Munich High School.
Dolores was united in marriage to Harold J. Berg on November 19, 1946 at Munich, ND. They made their home in Calio, ND for 35 years. In 1990, they moved to Devils Lake where they have since made their home. Dolores served as the Postmaster in Calio for eight years.
She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Munich and after moving to Devils Lake became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Jude’s Circle. She also was a member of the NAPUS.(National Association of Postmasters of the United States).
Dolores is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold
Son: Owen Berg and his wife, Helen of Langdon, ND
Daughter: Anita Pitchford and her husband, David of Colorado Springs, Colorado
Grandchildren: Stephanie (Keith) Mikkelson, Casey Berg, Sarah Berg, Kelly Pitchford and Kaitlyn Pitchford.
Sisters: Pauline Ballweg, Langdon
Eleanor Mueller, Devils Lake
Brothers: James Bernardy, Munich
Hillary Bernardy, Munich
She was preceded in death by her parents; son and daughter-in-law, David and Harriet Berg; sisters, Clara Michels and Geraldine Berg.
