Andrew J. Lang, 76 of Devils Lake formerly of Starkweather, ND died on Friday evening, February 4, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. C.F. Wilhelm will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Albert Seykora, Leo Volk, Jim Hausmann and Dave Brown.

Andrew Joseph Lang was born August 5, 1928 in Starkweather, ND, the son of Paul and Marie (Herlitz) Lang. He was educated in rural Maza, ND. Andrew enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 4, 1951 at Cando, ND. He served his country during the Korean War. He was a Platoon Leader and was honorably discharged on January 3, 1954 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Andrew was united in marriage to Geraldine Mason on October 25, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cando, ND. They made their home on a farm near Cando and later moved to the Warwick area, where they continued to farm. In 1983, they relocated to Devils Lake and Andrew retired. His love for farming continued and he again farmed in the Churchs Ferry area until his death. Along with farming he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Andrew was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Halle, Elvera Blawat and Mary Ann Lang; brother, Ervin Lang.
