Kyle Klemetsrud, 20 of Devils Lake, ND died on Friday, July 18, 2008 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial for Kyle will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Robert Pecotte will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation for Kyle will be on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Reading the Scriptures and the Eulogy will be Mike Klemetsrud and Marty Platz will be speaking of his friendship with Kyle. Gift Bearers will be Tristen Shelton and Sharla Klemetsrud Serving as Casket Bearers for Kyle will be friends, Marty Platz and Jeremy Eisenzimmer, uncles, Mike Klemetsrud, Paul Mertens and Lanny Duhamel, cousin, Scott Klemetsrud and instructors at LRSC, Lloyd Halvorson and Rick Senger. Music will be done by Peggy Bingham and Kathy Rohrbach. Kyle was born on September 17, 1987 at Federal Way, Washington, the son of Kirk and Ruth I. (Mertens) Klemetsrud. He grew up and was educated in the Devils Lake area. Kyle graduated from Devils Lake High School in 2006. He continued his education at Lake Region State College and graduated from POT (Police Officer Training) in December of 2007. He continued at LRSC and graduated with an Associates of Art Degree in May of 2008. He was presently the assistant manager of Lake 3 Theater. While in high school Kyle was active in ROTC and also was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Student Congress. While in college, Kyle was Vice President of the Student Body Senate and also worked part-time in public relations for LRSC. Kyle was very active with the Devils Lake Rural Fire Department for a number of years. He was an avid bowler and worked at the bowling alley for a few years. Kyle’s smile and laughter will be greatly missed, but the love we shared as family and friends will live in our hearts forever. Kyle is survived by his mother and step-father, Ruth and Eric Dewald of Devils Lake Brother: Lucus Klemetsrud and his wife, Starr also of Devils Lake Nieces: Tristen Shelton and Sharla Klemetsrud Grandparents: Shirley Jean Klemetsrud and Gerald and Shirley Mertens all of Devils Lake Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Kirk; grandfather, Neil Klemetsrud; aunt, Jill Leppert; uncles, David Mertens and Ron Fornschel.
