Jacqueline (Jacque) Beth Veer was born to Gerald and Ann (Mattern) Schwab on June 24, 1961 in Devils Lake, ND.
Jacque was a member of Devils Lake Central High school ROTC program, cheerleader and she graduated in 1979. She was a Delta Gamma Sorority member while attending the University of North Dakota and enrolled at Lake Region Junior College. She married Michael Veer in 1982.
Jacque worked for Wakefield Flight Service, The Hearing Aid Company and the Marriot.
In the fall of 1988, Jacque met Chris Varsoke, her fiancé at the Mayo Clinic where she was being treated for Crohns Disease. Chris has been her best friend and the love of her life for over twenty years. They are avid Washington Redskin fans, they loved to fish and spent time on the family houseboat. Jacque was loved by the Varsoke family, Madeline and Nina Harris, many personal friends and respected by the medical community in Rochester, MN.
Jacque has volunteered for the Republican party, taught Catholic Religious Education and was a mentor for patients with Crohns Disease for the Mayo Clinic. She was a charter member of the Crohns Foundation Support Group in Mankato, MN. Jacque was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas; St. Josephs Church and St. Catherine Circle.
Jacque wrote poetry and children’s short stories. She enjoyed bird watching and raising poodles. Her favorite place was where she recovered from her initial transplant surgery at the Long Boat Key beach house in Florida owned by Jan Zachariasse, our family friend.
Jacque drew strength from her parents love and touch; the support and understanding from siblings and eternal admiration from nephews and nieces.
Jacque has always put others interests before herself. She is an inspiration to many individuals and touched the lives of thousands. Jacque walked by faith, not by sight; lived by spirit, not by flesh. One thing we know is when she looked into God’s eyes for the first time he said, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Jacque is survived by her dear and loving family: her parents, Gerald and Ann Schwab, Devils Lake; grandmother, Rose Wirth also of Devils Lake; Christopher Varsoke, fiancé of Rochester, MN;
