Darrett Allen Mudgett

Darrett A. Mudgett, “Little Man” 26 of Crowhill, rural Fort Totten, ND died on Thursday, April 21, 2005 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, rural Fort Totten. Funeral Services for Darrett will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crowhill Recreation Center. Rev. Reuben Schnaidt will officiate and burial will be in the St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery, rural Fort Totten. A Wake and Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Crowhill Recreation Center. The Procession to the Crowhill Recreation Center will leave at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday from the former Lake Country Auto Parking Lot in Devils Lake. Active Pallbearers will be: Darcy Longie, Shawn Dogskin, James Chase, Barney Shaw, Mark Mudgett, Perry Mudgett and Michael Thompson III. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Duane Keo, Harlan Littlewind, Winter Hawk Oldrock, April Pretends Eagle, Reccie Littlewind, April St. Pierre, Roxanne Hook, Julie Morin and all of Darrett’s Many Friends and Relatives. Darrett Allen Mudgett was born on June 6, 1978 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake the son of Arthur Mudgett and Cynthia Shaw BlackLance. He attended school at Four Winds, Fort Totten where he was a member of the Track Team. After high school, Darrett worked for a time as a Tribal Loan Officer for the Spirit Lake Tribe and also at the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort. He also was a member of the Spirit Lake Firefighters. Darrett loved to spend time with his son and family. Darrett is survived by his Son: Darrett Mudgett Jr., Mother: Cynthia BlackLance Father: Arthur Mudgett all of Crowhill Sister: Lola (Orlando Brown) Mudgett Brothers: Nilus BlackLance Marshall (Allison) BlackLance Arlin (Cindy Malaterre) BlackLance Twin Brother: Garrett Arthur Mudgett Bernard Mudgett Barrett (Rebecca Bear) Mudgett Nephew: Marshall BlackLance II Nieces: Carrie BlackLance and Gabrielle Mudgett Special Friend: Renae St.John Paternal Grandmothers: Lillian Mudgett, Lorraine Greybear and Christine Alex Paternal Grandfather: Herbie Thomas Maternal Grandmother: Ardis Shaw Maternal Grandfathers: Vincent Shaw Sr. and Andy Shaw Maternal Great Grandmothers: Lillian Shaw and Hermenia McKay Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins also survive.
